Blondie, they must have said something like before 2000 because I remember something like that being said (probably at the Theocratic Ministry School) when I was a JW in the seventies. We had a lot of gated communities in my area and we were told that their blood was on their own hands if they put themselves in a postition were we couldn't reach them.

DO THE MATH: The Jehovah's Witness PREMISE doesn't add up
by Terry inthere are approximately 216,000 babies born every day in the whole entire world.
if every woman every place on earth suddenly stopped conceiving at the same time, it would take 9 months for all the babies in wombs to be born.. .
how many babies would that be by the end of that 9 months?.

That quote from the August 3, 1928 magazine helps explain why jws and xjws often make very good salespeople.
You are right Terry. With the Watchtower Society it has always been about selling junk and not necessarly to the public. Even if a JW goes out all day and no one takes the books or magazines the Watchower still wins because those books and magazines have already paid for poor mislead sucker who is wasting his or her day trying to sell them. And if they happen to place a few then the Wt gets to double dip and get paid again for the literature. Like MLM people who have a garage full of soap they thought they were good to sell every JW has a room full of old magazines and book they thought they could place.

Also a great job Anony Mous. It takes a lot of courage to meet with them and take the steps you are taking.

Good job Igot2bme. Your screen name says it all. Once you know it's a scam you can never be yourself if you try to stay in it and living a lie will would eat away at you.
You said you felt sorry for the elders that came to see you. I think that is a good thing. It shows that you are leaving the WT for the right reason. In the interest of truth and that you still care about those you are leaving behind. That attitude will help you get on with your life and avoid being bitter.
Expect some bad behavior from those that you thought were your friends.

Florida Pastor Doesnt Get Why Atheists Arent Registered Like Sex Offenders
by fallen_princess ini thought this was so insanely stupid that it made it funny, so i had to share.
living in "the bible belt", i meet people with this sort of mentality all the time but this guy takes the cake!
let's all applaud this guy for reaching new lows in his preachy narrow-mindedness that it was barely interesting enough that a reporter was desperate enough for a story wrote about it.. http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2011/08/florida_pastor_asks_why_atheis.html.

I wonder if he would be opposed to having himself and anyone who takes him serious having to register as idiots.

Why Certainty About God is Overrated
by leavingwt infrom today's usa today .
why certainty about god is overrated.
some atheists like richard dawkins and christopher hitchens are similarly locked into their certainty about the non-existence of god.

Great post Leavingwt. I clicked on the link to the article and read it. I've enjoyed reading quite a few of John Polkinghorne's books. Last year for our Tuesday night class at church we studied on of his books (Questions of Truth). Although I'm a Christian I'm also a big fan of uncertainty and doubt. I don't see a conflict there. I had enough of knowing all the answers when I was in the Watchtower and since leaving I've been very comfortable with uncertainty.

Yesterday morning while driving heading for the grocery store I saw four JW women out in "service". They were walking very slowly on a street where there were no people out and about. I observed them for several minutes. They passed several apartment complexes and for whatever reason made no attempt to enter them. They just moseyed along chit chating with each other.
About a half hour later when I was returning from the store I saw them again. They were still walking along at a snail's pace and were only about two blocks from where I first saw them. Still in an area where there was little chance of finding anyone to share their so called life saving message with.
Everytime I see JWs out in service they seem to be trying to get there hours in with as little contact with the public as possible. They certainly seem to have lost the pre 1975 sense of urgency.

Do most JW's belive their own private version of the religon?
by highdose intrying to work with jw's and their cd i notice that the harder i push their beliefs the more likely they are to hit back with some werid version of jw belives that exsists only in their own head.. its almost like they listen to the bs from the platform, run it through their head and then process it through their own filter and end up with a bastardised version of "the truth" that they feel comfortable with.. .
anyone else encountered this?
and whats your theory about it?.

Was it designed . . . TO KILL? The funnel-web spider. . .
by Lore inthe cow and the bear themselves will feed; together their young ones will lie down.
and even the lion will eat straw just like the bull.

If you believe that all animals on this planet were vegetarian before the flood then I think you also have to believe that a very rapid form of evolution took place after the flood that transformed the bodies of many of these animals into killing machines.

Could you eat breakfast after watching this at Bethel?
by Dogpatch inthis is a partial video of the morning breakfast table in brooklyn bethel in the late 80s, with lyman swingle hosting... the governing body member who at first tried to shelter ray franz from disfellowshipping, but then within a year or two his spirit was broken and he was a bitter man.. randy (i was there and it was death-dealing, like the death eaters from harry potter!).
address of windows media file if you don't see anything:.
